Phoebus Software, the fast-growing IT solutions provider to the mortgage and retail banking community, has released a new version of its system. The Phoebus system is renowned for its ability to process every aspect of a mortgage, fully complying with regulatory requirements, as well as its flexibility and speed in accommodating new products.
A major benefit of the Phoebus system, which uses scripting languages for its end user functionality, is that the investment in reliable business code is not lost when, as is often the case, technology moves on.
Phoebus has moved through several regenerations as both operating systems and technology have advanced over the last 15 years, but most importantly for its users, code defining the business logic has not had to be reworked. This feature of the product is of major benefit to Phoebus users, some of whom are at the leading edge of the mortgage market place using Phoebus to help them streamline business processes, bring new products to market rapidly and most importantly cut costs.
The most recent Phoebus change is to Version 6 which uses version 1.5 of the ubiquitous Java Virtual Machine. This Java offering embodies several improvements in stability and performance over earlier versions. The modifications to Phoebus' core engine enable it to take full advantage of the new Java functionality and continue to remain a pure Java application.
Testing of the new version has been carried out and it is now ready to deploy to clients. The deployment does not involve any cost or significant change for clients.
Phoebus remains committed to ensuring its clients can keep pace with technological improvements and emerging standards. Nearing completion is Phoebus-i Version 2 for rapid deployment of Phoebus functionality over the Internet through browsers, as well as providing enhanced Business to Business capabilities. |
